Brett is the founder and current Board Chairman of Charlie's House, a 501c-3 organization dedicated to preventing accidents and injuries to children in and around the home. Charlie's House was named in memory of Brett's son who was tragically killed in 2007 when a clothing dresser only 30" high tipped over on him at the age of 2. Charlie's House has built the nation's first safety demonstration home which is scheduled to open in 2020. Brett is also actively involved in ASTM International, serving on F15.42 Subcommittee for Furniture Safety and recently being elected to the F15.90 Executive Committee on Consumer Products. ASTM is the largest voluntary standards development organization in the world. A career in banking and sales has allowed Brett to actively pursue his passion of advocating for child safety. Brett resides in Kansas City, MO with his wife Jenny and three teenage children - Jack, Brigit, & Will.
